One of the car's greatest strengths is its originality. According to our paint inspection, the vehicle retains its original factory paint throughout, with the exception of the front left fender and the driver's door centre section, both of which have been refinished at some point during the car's life. The rear bumper was also repainted after a previously fitted detachable tow hitch was professionally removed for aesthetic reasons.

Naturally, the car shows honest signs of use accumulated over more than three decades. A few stone chips, minor age-related imperfections and a small area of clear coat deterioration on the rear right door are present. In our opinion, however, these details only reinforce the car's authenticity. This is not an over-restored collector's piece. It is an honest M5 that proudly tells its own story.

Equally impressive is the condition of the body. We found no corrosion in the typical E34 problem areas. The doors, sills, wheel arches and lower body all present remarkably well. The interior perfectly matches the exterior's originality. The grey leather remains in excellent condition, showing only light wear on the driver's seat consistent with careful use. The headliner is tight, the electric rear sunblind operates correctly, and the cabin immediately conveys the atmosphere of an exceptionally well-preserved BMW from the golden era of Motorsport.

Behind the wheel, the car feels exactly as an E34 M5 should. The S38 engine pulls strongly throughout the rev range, the gearbox shifts with satisfying precision, and the entire driving experience reminds you why these hand-built M cars have become so highly regarded among enthusiasts worldwide.
