The Maserati we are offering is a rare Maserati 4Porte (Quattroporte) as a manual in the 4.2l version with Italian first delivery in the colour combination dark aquamarine-metallic/brown. The third Quattroporte series is one of the most successful series of the Maserati group in the 80's and represents the revival of the brand on the part of the former De Tomaso owner.

 

The third series of the Quattroporte was designed independently by world-famous designer, Giorgio Giugiaro, who also designed cars such as the Ferrari 250 GT, BMW M1, as well as numerous other models that have gained enormous value today.

 

Only 51 manual transmission models were delivered, according to Maserati Club enthusiasts, making this model even more special than a usual 4.2l or 4.9l with automatic transmission.

The vehicle has no visible defects. No rust spots were found during the photo shoot. There are minor spots, but due to the age they are to be considered as patina. For example, the wood in the centre console has come loose a little (see pictures). Thanks to the modified exhaust system, the sound is even richer and reminiscent of a typical V8 muscle car.

 

The Maserati is the counterpart of the 4Porte 4.9l, which is also being sold for reasons of space and is parked outside Hamburg, dry and safe in a garage. The vehicle has been deregistered in the meantime and can be test driven and viewed by appointment.
