Our offered Saab Sonett III, first registered in July 1974, is a rare and striking sports coupé finished in a unique colour combination with part-leather upholstery and Corduroy fabric. A factory-fitted roll cage and period details such as a radio cassette, band-filter windscreen, and alloy wheels make this example particularly appealing.
The Sonett was discovered more or less by chance during a visit to a Saab specialist workshop. Originally, a Mercedes-Benz 190 SL had been on the wish list – but the charm of this Sonett in its extraordinary colour proved irresistible. A spontaneous purchase that soon became a cherished part of the collection.
Power comes from the lively 1.7-litre Ford V4 engine – essentially half of a V8. With 65 hp on paper, the figures may seem modest, yet the driving experience is anything but. The raspy sound, the lightweight construction, and the Italian-inspired design make it a true head-turner on the road.
With just over 70,000 km on the odometer and a valuation of around EUR 24,000, this Saab represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of the brand’s most characterful and charming models. Driven only in fair weather, it now awaits a new enthusiast to continue its story.

Excellent originality, strong emotional character
A rare opportunity to acquire a Saab Sonett III. The car presents itself in very solid condition: both sills are clean, the doors are free from rust, as are the underbody and boot floor, and no major issues were detected. The mechanics run reliably, while the interior shows an authentic patina, particularly on the driver’s seat from getting in and out. All in all, an honest car with presence, character, and a truly distinctive sound.
The coupé is located in Hamburg and can be viewed and test-driven by appointment. Sale on behalf of the customer.
